About: 
Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse FRGS FSSSI wears many hats, and is currently the Executive Director of Melbourne based company, Spatial Vision. He is also the President of Australia’s peak professional body, Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI). He serves on the Executive Board of World Geospatial Industry Council and is the First Vice President-Elect for the International Society of Digital Earth as well as the Vice-Chair of Locate Conference Australia Board.

From his roles in SSSI to his advisory work to governments globally, Zaffar provides opportunities to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, both nationally and internationally. He also helps shape the research in spatial sciences, using his adjunct Associate Professor appointments from the University of New South Wales and the University of Melbourne. He has led several Multi-Million Dollar National Mapping projects for State and Federal governments globally. Zaffar has published research papers focusing on GIS applications to support such areas as spatial data infrastructure, data quality, groundwater management, water resources, rural administration; asset management; field data capture; public health management and disaster management. Zaffar is member of ISO TC/211 since 2010 representing Australia. He is also involved with the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (UNGGIM) under UN Statistics Division.
