About:
From an early career as a chemical engineer in CSIRO, Robin Batterham went on to take senior roles in Rio Tinto from 1988 until 2009, including Global Head of Innovation.  He was also Chief Scientist of Australia for 6 years and instrumental in a doubling of research funding to the Universities.  He is currently Kernot Professor of Engineering at the University of Melbourne.  His conference roles include the World Congress of Chemical Engineering and (twice) as President of the International Mineral Processing Congress.  He has ongoing roles in advanced manufacturing, energy systems, waste reprocessing and is Academic Director of the EU-Melbourne University Centre for Complex Problems.
