About:
Napier Thomson is the Chairman of the Human Research Ethics Committee at Monash University, and a Consultant Physician in Renal and General Internal Medicine at the Alfred Hospital. He is a specialist in renal medicine and is a Past President of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).  He was the Chair the World Congress of Internal Medicine in Melbourne 2010. In June 2009, Professor Thomson was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to medicine, research, medical education and professional associations and in 2010 he received the David de Kretser Medal, awarded for outstanding contributions to the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University.
