About:
Associate Professor Mark Kennedy is a general practitioner from Geelong in Victoria and is married with five children. He is Medical and Clinical Director of Northern Bay Health, a network comprising of 3 primary care practices and a community-based Integrated Diabetes Centre where GPs work with an endocrinologist, diabetes educator, dietitian and podiatrist. He is frequently invited to speak about diabetes, health literacy, health equity, chronic disease and other health topics at conferences in Australia and overseas. He regularly runs diabetes workshops and seminars for GPs and other doctors around Australia and overseas and is involved in diabetes research with the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne.  He is founding Chair of the Primary Care Diabetes Society of Australia. His other areas of medical research interest include health literacy, the link between socio-economic status and health outcomes and health and medical law.
