Associate Professor Laurence Harewood has had a parallel career in academic and clinical urology for over 35 years. He has been a pioneer in introducing minimally invasive techniques into urology, including Percutaneous and Ureteroscopic surgery for renal calculi, Laparoscopic surgery in urology, alternative therapies for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, and latterly Robotic surgery for Prostate cancer, renal cancer and bladder lesions. He is an Associate Professor of Urology in the Department of Surgery of the University of Melbourne. He currently holds the position of Director of the Urovascular and Renal Clinical Institute Epworth Health Care.
