About:
Jonathan Crowston is the Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke-NUS and a glaucoma specialist appointed to the Singapore National Eye Centre.  
He gained his ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and was awarded a PhD for work on ocular fibrosis at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London (2000). He served for 10-years as Managing Director of the Centre for Eye Research Australia and Ringland Anderson Professor and Head of Ophthalmology at the University of Melbourne. Jonathan moved to Singapore in late October 2018.
Jonathan’s research is focussed on understanding why ageing predisposes to optic nerve disease and in particular focussing on neuroplasticity and the potential for retinal ganglion cell recovery. He was Convenor of the World Glaucoma Congress in Melbourne in March 2019.
