About:
Jill Sewell is a Senior Paediatrician in the Centre for Community Child Health at the Royal Children's Hospital, and Clinical Director of the Children’s Bioethics Centre. Her interests include community paediatrics, psychological medicine, medical ethics, medical education, quality and safety, and health policy, service delivery and regulation. Jill was the Deputy President of the International Congress of Pediatrics held in Melbourne in August 2013. She is the immediate past President of the Australian Medical Council. Jill is the inaugural Chair of the Victorian Clinical Council, Department of Health and Human Services. She was previously a member of the Victorian Health Minister's Health Innovation and Reform Council, and was on the Board of Alfred Health for 9 years, chairing its Quality Committee. In mid-2014, Jill completed 5 years as the inaugural co-clinical lead of the Victorian Paediatric Clinical Network. She was President of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians 2004-2006, and President of the Paediatrics and Child Health Division 1998-2002. In 2005 Jill was made a Member of the Order of Australia for her services to child health.
