About:
Professor Ian Freckelton is a Queen's Counsel at the Victorian Bar, admitted throughout Australia, & practising full-time in administrative law, disciplinary cases, personal injury matters, coronial & professional negligence law, criminal law, & commercial law. He was called to the Bar in 1988 and took silk in 2007. His practice is trial, appellate and advisory. Ian is also a judge of the Supreme Court of Nauru, a member of the Mental Health Tribunal of Victoria and of the Coronial Council of Victoria. He is a Professorial Fellow of Law and an Honorary Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, an Adjunct Professor of Forensic Medicine at Monash University, and an Adjunct Professor of Law at La Trobe University.
Ian is the Editor of the Journal of Law & Medicine & the Editor-in-Chief of Psychiatry, Psychology & Law, as well as the author of many books (see below) and over 600 peer reviewed articles and chapters of books.
