About:
Professor Graeme Jackson is an international leader in imaging and epilepsy, and a leader in Victorian and Australian neurosciences. He is the Deputy Director at the Florey Institute of Neurosciences and Mental Health in Melbourne.
His major research achievement has been his impact on the understanding of epilepsy. He is the world leader on the use of MRI technologies in neurological disease, and has combined these interests to advance the understanding of epilepsy and to identify lesions that allow surgical cure of epilepsy.
His group is at the forefront of unravelling the structural and functional abnormalities in the human brain that are associated with epilepsy. Personal and scientific synergy with Professor Sam Berkovic, who is also an international leader in the genetics of epilepsy has created an energised scientific environment that has attracted a lot of bright young Australian neurologists and scientists and fellows from around the world.
