About:
Professor David Hill AO is a behavioural scientist who was appointed Director (CEO) of the Cancer Council Victoria (CCV) in August 2002.  He is a long-term staff member of CCV and was founding Director of the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer.  He is a Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne in both the School of Population Health and School of Psychological sciences.  He is also an adjunct professor at Monash University.  His publication work included research on the prevalence of adolescent and adult smoking, strategies for smoking cessation, reduction of smoking uptake, smoking regulation, behavioural aspects of cancer screening, monitoring trends in skin cancer prevention and exploring determinant of behaviours related to skin cancer prevention an psychosocial aspects of cancer experience. From 2008 to 2010 he served on the Board of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) between 2006 and 2012 and was its President from 2008-2010.  He retired as Director of the CCV in April 2011 but remains an Honorary Associate and is involved in research and other aspects of the Council's work.  In 2013, he was engaged as a Senior Visiting Scientist at the International Agency for Research in Cancer (IARC), Lyon, France, to review and report on the opportunities to develop Implementation Science at IARC.  He sits on the board of Jack Brockhoff Foundation.
