New era for Club Melbourne

March 2017

Katie Tinetti, the new Senior Manager for Club Melbourne and Business Development, is not one to shy away from adventure… So when the opportunity arose to jump into the world of Club Melbourne, she knew she had to be part of it.

A visitor to more than 30 countries and a professional major events and tourism marketer, Katie has a vast array of experience etched into her passport. Previously in an events management role with Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), Katie has now moved across to Club Melbourne to take up leadership of the program. A proud Melburnian and polished ambassador for the meetings and events capital of Australia, telling Melbourne’s story comes as second nature to her.

“Having worked within and travelled to other cities around the world, Melbourne clearly leads the way, hosting some of the regions biggest and dynamic cultural, sporting, business and artistic events,” Katie said.

“The experience business visitors enjoy whilst conferencing in Melbourne is second to none, and it’s this important mix of business and cultural diversity that keeps them coming back.”

Katie commenced with Club Melbourne in late February, bringing with her a wealth of local knowledge, skills and vast networks.

“I’m incredibly honoured to have been given the opportunity to be part of such a successful and admired initiative. It’s not every day that you’re entrusted to lead one of the world’s most influential Ambassador programs,” she added.

Katie is looking forward to continuing to build on the existing brand and rich relationships forged within the Club Melbourne network, as well as exploring new opportunities to evolve Club Melbourne and further attract innovation, education and business opportunities for Victoria.

“As I gradually meet every one within our diverse Club Melbourne network, I’d particularly like to gain greater insight from our Ambassadors and key stakeholders on how we can further strengthen our support, offering and purpose.

“Collaboration is key! With a forward-thinking approach and continued support and engagement, I am certain we can take Club Melbourne to the next level.

“My vision for Club Melbourne is not to just be one of the world-leading Ambassadors programs, but to be THE one. Together, let’s embark on this new adventure and take Melbourne to the very top!”

When not in Melbourne, Katie retreats to Daylesford in the picturesque Hepburn Shire in Central Victoria, spending time with family and walking with her dogs around the lake – after all, sometimes adventurer seekers need downtime too!

We warmly welcome Katie to Club Melbourne and look forward to our next shared adventure together.
